Golden pheasant
(Chrysolophus pictus)


A fantastically bright and fine looking bird from the mountainous forests of western China — though if you're lucky you might see some roaming woodland areas of the UK, where they had been introduced for sport and ornamental purposes. They spread their cape in a display, appearing as an alternating black and orange fan that covers all of the face except its eye.
